Welcome to the Department of Building
I would like to express my pride of belonging to the Department of Building, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, University of Lagos. Building is taught in only a few universities in Nigeria, hence the need to meet universal standards in mastering the requisite skills of the discipline. Since its foundation, the department has spared no effort in developing a programme that fits the needs of society and keeps pace with developments in the field worldwide. We are confident that we are adopting a learning environment capable of preparing and qualifying graduates who are able to face challenges innovatively and creatively.

About the Department of Building
The Department of Building is one of the five departments of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, University of Lagos. It traces its roots to the Department of Building Technology, created in 1980/81 when the Faculty of Environmental Design was restructured, and took its present name in the 1986 rationalisation that formed the Faculty of Environmental Sciences.
The department trains graduates in the science and management of building production, with teaching supported by the Faculty’s studios and material workshops.
